International Built Environment Week (IBEW), the region’s premier built environment event, returns from 3–5 September 2025 with a renewed focus on elevating industry expertise through its inaugural IBEW Expert Series.
Spearheaded by BCA International (a wholly owned subsidiary of the Building and Construction Authority) in partnership with RX Singapore, this year’s conference introduces a dynamic new format designed to drive deep knowledge exchange and empower built environment professionals to become domain experts in an ever-evolving landscape.
Under the theme “Today’s Professional, Tomorrow’s Expert,” the IBEW Expert Series aims to upskill and empower built environment professionals to deepen their expertise, bridging the gap between industry know-how and future-ready specialisation. The conference is designed to support continuous upskilling across the sector and brings together a curated line-up of international experts and seasoned practitioners across the industry.
This year’s theme focuses on technical mastery and real-world application. Attendees can expect in-depth sessions on topics like prefab efficiency, carbon emissions tracking, and AI use in BIM led by industry practitioners such as Andrew Dewdney, Head of Modern Methods of Construction at Kier Construction, and Ethan Ow, CEO of Wenti Labs. With a strong emphasis on case studies and implementation, the programme equips professionals with practical tools to drive innovation on the ground.
IBEW 2025 aims to equip the workforce with deep, domain-specific knowledge that can be applied to real-world challenges. The event empowers industry professionals to take the lead in shaping a resilient and future-ready built environment by focusing on technical mastery, innovation, and cross-border collaboration.
Held alongside the IBEW, BEX Asia 2025, Asia’s leading built environment trade exhibition, will feature more than 250 exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge solutions in innovation, digitalisation and sustainability. Highlights include a robotics and automation showcase, the ConTech Exchange Pavilion, and live demonstrations of next-generation technologies.
This year’s exhibition also includes Obayashi’s 60th anniversary showcase, where the company will unveil a bold new chapter in construction, from live remote-operated machinery to carbon-capturing concrete and climate-positive materials.
